Ride Like a Girl is an initiative to get more women/girls into mountain biking and let them experience the joy it can bring. Everyone is welcome to join us on the FIRST Thursday of the month March through August. We generally meet at Mad Dog Cycles in Orem at 5:30 pm, but see postings for more details.

The May 15th ride was a good one. Jen, Kristy, Jeannie, Jessica, Patty, Jill, and I had a good time. I was really impressed with how each individual's confidence grew the longer we rode. We started off at Timpanogo's Park and worked on some skills. We practice sliding the rear wheel for turns and riding in a straight line. Then we headed up to the old race course. The first descent is pretty rocky and it transitions into a steep climb to where the loop begins.

We climbed and climbed regrouping from time to time. Then we got to go down hill. I love this descent. I made sure I stopped the group before the loose descent towards the end. I am probably a little too cautious. Everyone attempted this. I was really impressed. We had zero casualties.

Join us next month--June 19th.
