Ride Like a Girl is an initiative to get more women/girls into mountain biking and let them experience the joy it can bring. Everyone is welcome to join us on the FIRST Thursday of the month March through August. We generally meet at Mad Dog Cycles in Orem at 5:30 pm, but see postings for more details.

Ride Like a Girl keeps sneaking up on me this year. It must be the first week thing. My apologies, but thanks to those of you who mention it and remind me.

We are definitely on for June 4th. We will meet at 6:30 pm (correction this should have read 6:00--sorry Patty) at Mad Dog Cycles in Orem as we always do. "Where are we going?" you ask. I am getting a professional opinion on potential trail conditions, but I am leaning towards Lambert Park.

I have only ridden here a couple of times, but it has always been fun. This network of trails just flows and there is not much climbing. I have just a couple of concerns:

1. Time and distance. Lambert Park is nestled beside the mountain in Alpine which is not as close as Provo Canyon, but it does not get dark until pretty late. And this date is close to the summer solstice.
2. Dust. I am not sure how dusty these trails get in the summer. I imagine they stay pretty dry, but we may get some thundershowers early next week. Then I won't really have to worry about that. And really a little dust never hurt anyone, right?

So this is the tentative plan, but there are lots of other options if this does not work out. So what do you think? Who is with me?

Hello - It is Heidi, from Alpine. I rode with you last year. I would love to do Lambert Park this year and do know some good trails back there. I have never been concerned about the dust and dusk should also be no problem, but it might be worthwhile to meet a little earlier if you can. I would just plan to meet you at the trailhead in Alpine at the time of your choosing. Do you know what I mean. There is a dirt parking lot at the end of a residential street, where I would recommend meeting. We could also meet at my house. I'm a 5 minute ride from the trail. Any other suggestions? It would be a lot of fun to ride back there. Sadly, I haven't been on my mtn. bike yet this year, but did do my first century on my road bike 2 weeks ago. I'm excited to see you next week!

Haven't we met at 6 pm in the past? Either way I am planning on coming. I just wanted to verify the time so there was no confusion. I am so excited to go to Lambert park, I've never been there and hear it is great.
